Another app that’s good for people trying to lose weight is MyNetDiary. Actually, you can use this online or as an app. But it’s much easier to do on your phone, keep track of it each time you eat or drink. Basically, it keeps track of how many calories that you take in. You have to be honest and record all of your calories as best you can. The free version (maybe as good or better than the paid app) has 250,000 food entries, many linked to U.S. restaurants. You can enter a full portion or .5 of a ‘serving’, stuff like that. It is very flexible. It shows you how many calories you’ve taken in at the end of the day and if you’re under or over your target intake, which is based on what you enter when you set it up. I’m over during the Thanksgiving holidays, but was on a good streak before that!
SoundHound is another good app that will ‘hear’ a song and then tell you who the artist is. It’s good in a bar (best to hold it as close to the speaker as possible) when someone asks you, “Who sings this song?”
I used to use Shazam, but they started limiting it to 5 songs a month (was unlimited before) and from what I’ve read, the paid version is terrible.
SoundHound is good and will also give you a bunch more information about the artist including album info, lyrics, info on other albums about the band, YouTube video links, options to purchase those songs from iTunes, similar artists and more. It’s a great, free app.
SoundHound is an amazing app. It just recognize any song, whether it’s playing somewhere or you hum it.
